Thematic lectures were held at the Faculties of NU «OMA» within the framework of the Ukrainian Law Week on December 8, 2016.

N.S. Lysenko, Ph.D. in Economics, Assistant professor of Management and Economics of Maritime Transport Department revealed the theme ”Legal affairs of legal department as part of the organizational structure of maritime transport enterprises”. The following debating issues were considered during the lecture: the legal aspects of waterway management; the main functions and tasks of legal department as part of the organizational structure of maritime transport enterprise; the functioning features of the legal department in a variety of organizational structures of enterprises; the main differences between the legal department’s work as a line and staff organizations; the world practice of the legal department at the enterprises of maritime transport.

O.V. Matveevsky, a senior lecturer in Aministrative and Criminal Law, gave a lecture on “The implementation of basic human rights during the criminal investigation”, which addressed the issues of human rights and fundamental freedoms during the crime scene investigation over the fact of committing murder and robbery. Particular attention was paid to the compliance with the procedural regulations, aimed at ensuring human dignity during interviews of victims, witnesses and suspects.

O.E. Kytayenko, a senior lecturer in Aministrative and Criminal Law, held a lecture on “Guarantees of the rights of the convicted”. The following problematic issues were considered as well: safeguarding the rights and freedoms of persons sentenced, compliance with the laws and regulations, as well as the important issue of resocialization after serving sentence.
