The International Scientific and Technical Conference of Young Scientists “Ship’s Power Plants: Operation and Repair” was held at the premises of National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” on December 14, 2017.

The conference topics were the following:

–Section 1. Ship’s Power Plants and Systems, Head – Doctor of Engineering Science, Professor E.M. Polovinka ;

–Section 2. Operation and repair of the Ship’s Power Plants, Head – Doctor of Engineering Science, Professor V.A. Golikov,

–Section 3. Sub-section reports – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, S.V. Kozytsky.

Within the framework of the conference, the plenary meeting started with the report on ”Development of the Maritime Education System and Manning in Ukraine” represented by M.V. Miyusov, the Rector of NU ”OMA”, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. Furthermore, O.M. Volkov, Head of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Department of NU “OMA” presented a report on “Status and prospects for training Doctors of Philosophy at National University “Odessa Maritime Academy “.

The results of the conference were summarized at the closing meeting where M.O. Kolegaev, Dean of Marine Engineering Faculty, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor and Heads of sections made their speeches. Therefore, it was decided to publish a separate collection of the best reports.
