The final games of the basketball tournament were held within the framework of XXVI Regional Student Games of the academic year 2017-2018 among 16 higher educational establishments on December 14, 2017. The basketball team of National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” took the honorable fourth place that was the best result in recent years.

The team consisted of Tugushi George (Georgia), Drumov Dmitry, Mendeleev Igor, Kachur Dmitriy, Saddabi Belelya (Tunisia) and Dragomir Maxim.

Igor Vladimirovich Pedyev was the team coach, a senior lecturer of Physical Education and Sports Department of NU “OMA” and the judge of national category in basketball.
