On March 10, 2023, an online meeting of representatives of the Maine Maritime Academy  (MMA) and the National University “Odesa Maritime Academy” (NUOMA) was held, which was attended by Gerald Paul, President of the MMA, Professor Ender Asyali, Kate Noel, Press Secretary, Professor Mykhaylo Miyusov, Rector of NUOMA, Professor Vadym Zakharchenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Maryna Chesnokova, Head of the International Cooperation Department.

During the meeting, issues of development of cooperation between the Maine Maritime Academy and the National University “Odesa Maritime Academy”, namely possible assistance from the MMA side, exchange of cadets and students, lectures, use of the MMA educational Internet platform by cadets and students of NUOMA, organization of joint meetings of cadets and students of MMA and NUOMA, help in organizing onboard training and others.

NUOMA cooperates with MMA within the framework of the International Association of Maritime Universities.

The Academy was founded in 1941. Maine Maritime Academy is a public, co-educational college located in the coastal town of Castine, Maine. The student population numbers approximately 950 students in courses of study in engineering, management, science, and transportation. The rigorous courses and experiential programs equip students with the practical skills, knowledge, and training to launch successful careers upon completing an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree.
