The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) is an international professional and scientific institute that brings together marine engineering experts from around the world. IMarEST is the first institute to bring together marine engineers, scientists and technologists in a single international, multidisciplinary professional partnership. IMarEST is the largest maritime institute of its kind with worldwide membership based in some 120 countries and is a registered non-profit organization ensuring membership for all, from those seeking a degree in Marine Engineering or other professional recognition, to those just beginning their career or studies. The engineering fields at the academy have been accredited IMarEST four times since 1996.
The Maritime Institute of Great Britain is one of the most respected non-governmental organizations in the world, bringing together maritime officers and other professionals working in the maritime field. The activities of the Institute, which is based at the Academy, are reflected in the publications of the Institute and the Division, including Seaways and Sea Review.
