Meeting of representatives of Columbia Shipmanagement Ukraine with cadets of Navigation Faculty of National University «Odessa Maritime Academy» in order to conduct the workshop on the Maritime Labour Convention in the maritime industry took place from 30 May to 2 June, 2017. The workshop topics were the following: safety briefing and opening, company values and updates, international regulations, preparation of holds, draft survey, cargo ventilation, ballast water management, anchoring awareness, loss prevention, port state control and risks of detention, management styles and leadership, practical exercises (loading computer). Current conditions require closer cooperation between educational institutions and shipping companies in the field of compliance with the international maritime legislation. Therefore, Columbia Shipmanagement Ukraine intends to continue the cooperation with NU “OMA” within the framework of the Maritime Union of Crewing Companies.
