Img 0569999On June 15, 2018 the work of the accreditation visit of the experts representing the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (ImarEST, Great Britain) at National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” was comleted. Starting from June 13, a group of experts conducted a regular (fourth) accreditation of engineering specialities under which the training at Marine Engineering Faculty, Automation Faculty and Electrical Engineering and Radio Electronics Faculty was provided.

The main purpose of the visit was to confirm the compliance of the training system at National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” to the requirements of the professional competence standards and registration of engineers in the Engineering Council to the level of Chartered Engineer corresponding to the Master’s qualification and the level of Incorporated Engineer corresponding to the qualification of a Bachelor’s degree or a National Diploma of Higher Education.

During the discussion of the audit’s results, IMarEST experts noted the high level of programmes and courses, indicated a high quality of examination system, a high level of special equipment and simulators as well as a high qualification level of the University’s teachers and instructors.

The working group of experts included Tom Fanthorpe, Chairman of the Commission and the following members: William Megill and John Bartlett.

We are waiting for official conclusions based on the results of the audit.
