On June 29, 2018 the graduation ceremony took place in National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” that is one of the most memorImg 8104able events of cadets life. From now on, the vast expanses of seas and oceans will be opened and awarded Bachelor‘s degrees will give the right to embark upon a career in the fleet and firmly uphold positions in the relevant branches of maritime industry.

M.V. Miyusov, the Rector of NU «OMA», Honored Worker of Education in Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor congratulated the cadets on that special day and wished further success in continuing the education at the native walls of alma mater.

Besides, A.A. Tarasov, the First Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces of Armed Forces of Ukraine, RearImg 8010 Admiral, O.G. Grigoryuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Marine Transport Workers‘ Trade Union of Ukraine (MTWTU), Trousdale Steven, ITF Inspector (UK), Hamani Amadou, ITF Inspector (Germany) and others delivered welcoming addresses. V.V. Chizhov, the representative of “V.Ships” company presented the cup to the cadet of the university confirming the achievement of success during the training at NU “OMA “ and successful shipboard training in the company. In addition, tutors, parents, relatives and friends supported cadets. Sincere congratulations and wishes for success were heard from the guests.

Img 7803At the end of the event, the excursion around the university‘s buildings was held for a foreign delegation where the facilities of the academy were demonstrated, including simulators, laboratories, museum and others. Special attention was paid to the opening of another simulator TRANSAS GMDSS TGS 5000, version 8.5. (Sailor 6000) of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), the main purpose of which is the use of new versions of radio equipment and radionavigation devices on modern vessels.
