On May 26, 2021 National Maritime Academy “Odessa Maritime Academy” held a presentation of a modernized multimedia classroom for English classes thanks to the sponsorship of the university’s partner Nordic Hamburg Shipmanagement.

The computer multimedia class has a software and hardware complex – a multimedia language cabinet NetClassPro designed for learning foreign languages. This complex has the following distinctive features of the system: use of visual aids, easy operation and effective presentation of educational material. The system enables to broadcast the image of the teacher’s monitor screen on cadets’ monitors; to create the effect of a “virtual audience”, within which groups of cadets can answer the tasks of the passed material as well as jointly conduct a dialogue and read the text; to record laboratory work simultaneously for all student workplaces; talk to each of the students, at the same time with all or with the group; during oral work in audio mode, you can record the work of an individual student or pair work. The computer multimedia class has curricula for all specialties for which training is conducted at the university. Curricula allow students to develop 3 types of speech activity such as: reading, listening, writing.

Сontrol and teacher’s participation in the educational process is of particular importance in the work of a multimedia computer class. This system of education allows both teachers and students to use the material individually as well as in the group.
