Martial law has been imposed in Ukraine. Please remain calm and reasonable. On the recommendation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, a two-week vacation has been announced at the Academy since February 28. Stay at home if possible. The Academy operates in an operational mode to ensure life support. Registration of cadets for shipboard training is temporarily suspended. I draw the attention of the cadets studying under the contract, for the period of martial law, penalty accrual for delaying tuition fees has been suspended. I ask cadets, if necessary, to resolve urgent issues, contact course officers and directors of institutes or personally to me. Please use different means of distance communication.

In this difficult time for all of us, I want to address you with words of sincere support. Life doesn’t always turn out the way we planned. Yesterday you were planning which company to go for an internship, and today you suddenly hear explosions of war. During such events, we should support all those who are near and dear to us. We support loved ones, close relatives, friends and just kind people. We unite and help each other in difficult times, we do not leave those who need help in trouble.

In the face of military aggression, support from companies from around the world, as well as other international partners, is extremely important to us. Words of sincere support have already been expressed by many of our partners – universities that are members of the International Association of Maritime Universities.

Let’s support Ukraine together!

Respectfully,

Rector of NU «ОМА»                                                                                   Mykhaylo Miyusov
